The Dogon Collection pays homage to the iconic architecture of the Dogon people in West Africa where their dwelling are carved into soft clay like mountainsides. The organic geometry including stacked sones, cone shaped granaries and "man caves" as in La case a palabre or Toguna can be detected in the pattern of the scarves for this collection.
In designing this collection, I was led by the organic geometry of Dogon dwellings as well as my home environment of New England foilage for the color tonalities. The travel to distant lands starts the process but ultimately the entire journey informs the final design. We are committed to visualizing a Primitive Modern aesthetic that can blend ancient sensibilities and traditions with modern materials and design, fashion that is comfortably elegant and sometimes transforms you to another place.
