The dogon Collection
spring/Summer 2016

Introducing the Dogon Collection, inspired by the organic sophistication of the Dogon people in West Africa.

Imagine a world where housing is carved into mountains and life is beautifully adapted to the physical constraints of an environment.

For the Collection, I took inspiration from many sources, including the stacked stones that fence the community, the cone shaped storage granaries and la case à palabre or Toguna, where men hang out and discuss community matters. A Toguna's roof is very low so one can only sit or lie down, thereby limiting aggression and promoting peace.

For color I thought of the  simple and reserved beauty of the Dogon fused with the beautiful foliage and colors I see around our New England headquarters.
